(L-R) Rachel Peterson of Newtown on Road Runner & Jamison L. Wallace of New Milford on Shoeless Joe
Jackson enjoy a ride on the 2GHG trails.
The Second Company Governor’s Horse Guard (2GHG) held its Annual Benefit Trail Ride for Connecticut Children’s Medical Center on the grounds of its Fairfield Hills Headquarters in Newtown, CT. Seventy-five riders participated, donating a record $5,632. Several area stables brought groups of riders, including Sunny Brook Farm in Newtown, Silver Horseshoe Riding Stable in Milford and Happy Trails of Danbury.
Many members of the Newtown Bridle Lands Association participated, and many individuals from Connecticut and New York transported their horses to the property. Riders enjoyed an 8-mile leisurely ride on grass trails and through a stream crossing.
2GHG photographer PFC Linda Clearwater took photos of each rider, and will be able to provide electronic or printed photos. Any riders interested should email PFC Clearwater at 2GHGnews@sbc.global.net.
2GHG and Connecticut Children’s Medical Center would like to express a heartfelt thanks to all of the generous donors.
